This will most likely be framed. I can't remember the last time I went to the store and actually bought a magazine. Sure I skim through all the b.s gossip about the Kardashians while at the check out. I'm always interested to see what those heifers are up to. My dirty little secret I suppose. Not so much secret anymore, right? Today while I was at the check out line at Walgreens I saw this magazine. I instantly ran to it and grabbed it. There was no doubt in my mind I was going to purchase it. I stared and stared at the cover for a few minutes. I was instantly taken back to when I was 14 years old, hanging out on the bleachers in Jr. High. I won't lie, I got a little choked up, as I always do when it comes to Kurt. I love Nirvana. This is my 3rd blog about them so far. I'm still hoping to go to Seattle. When I do go, you'll be the first to know. By the way, when I was getting ready to pay I noticed my total was $26+ bucks. I can't believe its been 17 years since we lost Kurt Cobain. Man, time flies. I know I've talked about my love for Kurt and Nirvana in the past (Read "Oh, Me" December 2010) so I'll try not repeating myself. I'm still bummed Kurt is gone and strangely enough, still in disbelief. Get over it, I know. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. This year I'm hoping to maybe, finally, make it out to Seattle. I would love noting more than to visit his house and sit on the infamous bench. Just have a moment. I'll be sure to take my green Docs. Although I quit smoking, that day I'll be sure to make an exception.

Oh, Me

I still remember what I was doing when I found out Kurt Cobain died. I was standing in the living room at my then best friend's house listening to KROQ (back then they actually played good music) when they announced Kurt Cobain had been found dead. DEAD! I remember being in utter disbelief! No it couldn't be! I remember falling to my knees crying. Very dramatic I know, but all true. As I type this and relieve the moment, I can feel my eyes beginning to water once again. I never met Kurt Cobain and probably never would have. I never had the honor of seeing Nirvana live, but they were a part of my youth. They were a part of me. I still have my green doc martens that read "Kurt Lives Forever!" I remember writing that on my shoes on the bleachers in 8th grade. I refuse to throw them away. Today one of my dear friends had the honor of going to Kurt's house. The house where he allegedly took his life. The house where he was last seen alive. She of course send me...
