The Plate That Keeps on Giving

Image
You can see where I've had to glue the frame because it broke. The Social D lettering use to be red once upon a time.  So, we got a new car, which means my infamous license plate frame is getting transferred over to the new wheels. We didn't get rid of the Orange Bang, that would be blasphemy! We traded in Mr. Andrade's old crappy wheels for a bigger roomier carro. This license plate frame has been with me for eons. I believe I got it in 2000 at a Social D concert. I remember seeing it and knowing instantly I had to have it. It's been with me for 3 cars now, scratch that---make it 4, and I plan to hang on to it for as long as I can. I've gotten tempted to get a new frame, maybe a Disney, or Packers, or Dodgers but can't seem to look go. I know it looks all beat up and stuff but I feel it gives it character. Besides, after my sister called my car a "mom car" I need to add some cool factor to it.

Father of the Game

With Dodger season (finally) approaching and Sami constantly asking, "When are we going to another Dodger game?" Proud mama, I am. I thought it would be nice to talk about one of the games we went to last season. Mr. Andrade was picked as one of the few dads for "Father of the Game." I'm not sure how many entires there was, but the lady told us there was quite a few. I felt it was quite appropriate because he is an amazing father. He does so much for Sami (and me) a lot of things that I'd rather not do. He takes the time to play with her, takes her to fĂştbol practice, and has recently started doing story time with her. I seriously don't do most of these things. It's no wonder half the time she'd rather roll deep with her dad than with me. She says that's her "buddy." I don't know how he finds the patience and time, but somehow he does. I'm very fortunate and grateful to have him in my life and as far as I...

Los Dojers

I've been wanting to take Sami to a Dodger game for quite sometime now. I hadn't because I was scared for various reasons. I know plenty of parents take their kids to Dodger games but I just didn't feel quite ready. About a week ago the opportunity finally presented itself. One of Mr.A's friends was nice enough to make Sami's birthday invitations for free IF, we went to a Dodger game for him and got his son the backpack they were giving away. Sweet deal right? Only catch, we had to take Sami. They were giving the backpack to kids 12 and under which meant we had to take her. I was nervous and excited and expected to stay 2 innings minimal. My child is awesome and all that good stuff but she is also hyper and likes to run around like any kid her age.  All day we were prepping Sami telling her we were going to a baseball game. She seemed pretty excited even though she had no idea what baseball was. We get there and were all stok...
