Hawai'i 2016

I've wished for this moment since the day I started going to Hawai'i. I had always dreamt of taking my parents to Oahu. I'm fortunate to say that the dream finally became a reality. My parents had never ventured outside of the U.S, or Mexico. Every year it was the same vacay for them: San Juanito. My dad's beloved hometown, I won't lie, it's mine too. My mom was pretty much over it since she's not from that part of Mexico. She was tired of seeing the same scenic route year after year. The only part she looked forward to was seeing family and friends out there. Even then she'd sometimes stay home rather than go on vacation. A couple years ago I was lucky enough to win a pair of tickets to: Ellen's 12 Days of Giveaway! I decided to take my sister (after she agreed to sell her soul to me) to the taping. When it was announced that part of our prizes was a trip to Aulani, I knew then that my dream was about to come true. I think I actually started ...

Sometimes it's tough being a parent. Aside the obvious things such as tantrums, yelling, not wanting to sleep in their own bed, teaching them manners, and a lot of other things I'm sure most parents can relate to. I try to keep my cool because they are kids and naturally they will get into it but I have to admit it's not easy. I know unless it's something serious there is really no reason to say anything. In the end the kids will make up and I and the other parent would probably still be upset at each other ov...

This one of my favorite pics of my parents. My pops was rocking his long hair and my momma looks like a star from one those Mexican novelas. I'm not sure if they had my brother yet in this pic, I know for sure I wasn't born yet. I came in the awesome decade we call 80s. According to my mother her and my father use to go out a lot. They would go clubbing and what not. They actually met at club through my uncle. My papi had my uncle walk over to my mami and ask her if she wanted to dance (with my dad not my uncle). My mom asked why my dad didn't come over and ask himself. My uncle said he was shy but is a really nice guy. My mother eventually caved and agreed to dance with my father. She said after that they were inseparable. My father's wooing technique included promises of infinite trips to Disneyland and flowers every weekend. She said she's still waiting for those Disneyland trips and has yet to see some flowers. I know most kids think they're parents are...
