Disney & Rock Camp

Blessed. Emma. Preem Supremes. Dad Duty.  Ready for Disney! 1 Party People! Birthday Kids. I can't believe I haven't blogged about anything since February! I think it's combo of laziness, not having much to talk about and having my best ideas at night when I'm about to go to bed lol. Some cool stuff has happened for me and my family. We had some birthdays (Mr. A, Emma and my pops) and Sami went off to rock camp. The birthdays this year were pretty rad. We went out to eat for Mr. A's birthday as is tradition now. That's probably one of my new favorite things that we do now as a family. We get together (parental and siblings included) and go out to eat somewhere. We do the usual embarrassing thing by the telling our server we have a birthday so they can embarrass the birthday kid. Except me, I'm always down for birthday shit. This year Sami finally got to go to rock camp. We had been waiting for this moment for quite some...

Yo Ho ,Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me!

One of the very many awesome special memoriesI have of my dad is going to Disneyland. I don't think my dad cared for Disneyland much (Gasp! I know) but would still take us when we were kids. He rarely ever got on any rides with the exception of: The Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Small World and Pirates of the Caribbean. I think Pirates was his favorite. I always looked forward to my dad getting on the rides with us, even it was a few, and remember how he seemed to enjoy the scenery as cruised along the dark waters.  We've tried to convince my dad, several times, to come with us on our many Disney trips we take now as adults. We've even tried to persuade him by telling him they now sell alcohol at the park. So far he's declined every invite. I think we're just going to have to bamboozle him and not telling him we're bringing him to Disney. We'll see, that man isn't easiest person to trick. Love you, papi!

Happy 60th Pops!

Happy birthday to the greatest dad ever! Words cannot express how much this man means to me. Saying I love him doesn't even come close to how I feel. He helped me become the woman I am today. Although I didn't quite understand when I was younger and swore if I ever had kids I wouldn't do this or that, I find myself doing the same thing. It all makes sense now and I am totally grateful for the way he raised me. Gracias papi por enseñarme a decir gracias y por favor, por enseñarme a apreciar las cosas, por siempre estar a mi lado y sober todo apoyarme. Te agradesco todo y estoy muy orguyosa por tener un papa como tu. I love you papi!

Mi Papa y Mi Abuelita

If I only I could put into words what I feel each time I see this picture. I often love to just sit there and stare and stare wondering what kind of day that must have been. Was it a last minute shoot? Had they planned for this day? Were they wearing their Sunday best? As I'm typing these questions I just realized what a moron I am. I could ask my dad! After all he's the one in the picture. This is one of the few pictures of my dad as a kid. Let alone of him with my grandma. I love how my grandma looks so happy. She looks beautiful. My dad looks innocent, awkward and handsome with his little suspenders. I so miss my grandma and her crazy ways. She use to love to party and have herself a drink, or two. I guess the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, ay?
