Disney & Rock Camp

Blessed. Emma. Preem Supremes. Dad Duty.  Ready for Disney! 1 Party People! Birthday Kids. I can't believe I haven't blogged about anything since February! I think it's combo of laziness, not having much to talk about and having my best ideas at night when I'm about to go to bed lol. Some cool stuff has happened for me and my family. We had some birthdays (Mr. A, Emma and my pops) and Sami went off to rock camp. The birthdays this year were pretty rad. We went out to eat for Mr. A's birthday as is tradition now. That's probably one of my new favorite things that we do now as a family. We get together (parental and siblings included) and go out to eat somewhere. We do the usual embarrassing thing by the telling our server we have a birthday so they can embarrass the birthday kid. Except me, I'm always down for birthday shit. This year Sami finally got to go to rock camp. We had been waiting for this moment for quite some...

Yo Ho ,Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me!

One of the very many awesome special memoriesI have of my dad is going to Disneyland. I don't think my dad cared for Disneyland much (Gasp! I know) but would still take us when we were kids. He rarely ever got on any rides with the exception of: The Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Small World and Pirates of the Caribbean. I think Pirates was his favorite. I always looked forward to my dad getting on the rides with us, even it was a few, and remember how he seemed to enjoy the scenery as cruised along the dark waters.  We've tried to convince my dad, several times, to come with us on our many Disney trips we take now as adults. We've even tried to persuade him by telling him they now sell alcohol at the park. So far he's declined every invite. I think we're just going to have to bamboozle him and not telling him we're bringing him to Disney. We'll see, that man isn't easiest person to trick. Love you, papi!

Downey Library

Sami trying to decide what book she wants. Story time. Sami seemed to be interested in this story. The Carpenters Showcase. The  other half of The Carpenters show case. Summer is here and we are officially blocked from Disneyland (we have the cheapy pass). Now with no Disney till mid-August we had to come up with other ideas to keep Sami busy and entertained. Mr. A suggested the library. At first I was a little skeptical because Sami isn't exactly the quiet type. She has yet to learn the difference between her indoor and outdoor voice. Truth be told I still have trouble differing from the two myself. I said what the heck and decided to give it a shot. I ended up going to Downey library because the South Gate one is closed at the time due to some remodeling. Not that I mind going to Downey they have The Carpenters showcase. I always love staring at it and going over every little detail. I love The Carpenters. Reminds me of my cousins and I pla...

Au'revoir Tiny Twos

It was a safari party. Sami lost her mask and had to make a new one. It was Ms.Victoria's birthday. One of the mom's surprised her with a cake She's great with the kids.  One of Sam's classmates. I don't think she minded not going to Raging Waters too much. Last week Sami officially finished her Tiny Twos summer school. She loved it! They had a little party for the kids and one of the mother's surprised the teacher with a birthday cake. I wish I would have known it was her birthday I would have gotten her a little something myself. My mom and sister said Sami had a great time her last day. I wish I could have been there. At least I was able to be there via the pictures they would send via text. I, of course, was stuck at work. I don't like thinking about it because it bums me out. More and more reason to work towards my goals. Anway, Thursday the Tiny Twos crew had a field trip to Raging Waters. I'm not sure if all the ki...

I'll Always Love My Momma

The cowboy and my mommy dearest. My mommy dearest cracks me up sometimes. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this but, she can be very dramatic at times. My sister and I often refer to her as "Albert" a character from one of my favorite movies "The Birdcage". If you haven't seen it you must! For Sam's birthday we decided to make it a family day and take her to Disneyland. My mom was totally stoked being that she hadn't been in quite sometime and she was finally getting her Disney pass. We all have one except my dad, he's not big on the whole amusement park thing. Since Sam's actual birthday landed on a Thursday our Disneyland trip turned out to be perfect! No lines, no crowds and not too hot. For some reason that day most of the characters were out. Not that we were complaining. One of our faves is Woody. We all love Toy Story so it was very exciting to see the cowboy. I think he was on his way to a show because he seemed to be in a rush. ...

I had been trying to take my daughter to Disneyland for a week now. I was finally able to go on our mother-daughter date today. It was my first time taking Samantha to Disneyland alone. It was actually lots of fun and not too bad. Thanks Sammi for being so patient. Momma loves you.

Keeping Up With Scully

So I'm off for 2 weeks on my "baby time". I have to admit it has been a great week so far. Monday had a sibling outing with my brother and sister. We went to Disneyland and of course it was good times. We were there 3 hours and managed to get on 2 rides. It was pretty packed and hot. Being a holiday and all (MLK Day) we kind of figured as much. Nonetheless it was nice hanging out with my siblings. Tuesday I had lunch with my awesome friends Delie, Lupe and Lulu. We ventured off to Guadalajara Inn and had brunch. Well, I should say they did. I opted for desert and coffee instead. Lupe had told me we were going to meet at noon but knowing my fren (spelled that way purposely), I figured that's the time she'd be getting out of bed. Turns out I was wrong and had breakfast at my mami's house and was too full to join in on the delicious brunch. It was great conversation, great GOSSIP and great company. As you can see my week has been fabulous so far. Only prob...
