Compact Discs

Image
I think I'm one of those very few people who still buy CD's. Don't get me wrong I don't buy all my albums on compact discs. I only buy the ones from artist I truly and deeply love. I still remember walking into Music Plus and buying my first CD. It was the Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dreams album. I was stoked! I listened to that album over and over. I remember staying up till midnight to watch the Disarm video. I was so not let down. These last couple of weeks I've bought two CD's; I bought John Legend's Love in the Future and Kings of Leon's Mechanical Bull . Although I don't spend days and days listening to my albums like before, I still kind of geek out when I remove the wrapping. I also don't pay much attention to booklet anymore. Maybe I should. It would be nice to sing along with the album again.

Ultimate Date Night

Image
Mr. Andrade waiting for his dinner. Enjoying the edamame. The "fresh" drink. Waiting for John Legend & Sade. The long awaited Sade concert (with special guest John Legend)  finally arrived! I had been waiting for this concert since last year and it finally came!! Mr.Andrade was even looking forward to this show and boy was it worth the wait! I remember us constantly saying August! Ultimate date night! I had arranged with my mom to babysit Sam for the evening. She's usually the designated sitter when Mr.Andrade and I have our date nights. We had made dinner reservations before the show at Katsuya. Neither of us had ever been there but had heard great things about it. Turned out to be true. Dinner was delish! We had some house drinks, I don't really remember what they were called I just remember the server saying they had a fresh taste. They did. We had edamame and miso soup for starters and sushi for dinner. We managed to squeeze in de...

Mother's Day Win

I really don't know how to say this without it sounding offensive so, here goes. I've never really been a fan of Mother's Day and Father's Day. Not because I don't love my parents. My parents are my world. I guess because I felt I didn't need a holiday to show my appreciation for them. I call my mother on a daily basis and tell her I love her everyday. I probably should call my dad more often also. I do tell him I love him often though. I'm sure there are MANY more things I can do to show my appreciation but I try to let them know as much as I can. Having said that, I now have had a change of heart. Yesterday by far was one of the best days ever! Mr.Andrade totally made me feel like it was my day and whatever I wanted to do was a go. He surprised me with a trip to Shoeteria where he bought me my white Docs. I have been wanting white Docs forever and a day! I couldn't believe he remembered that. We walked over to the Docs section and there they were. T...

Cherish The Day

August cannot come soon enough! Sade is one of my all time favorite female artists, I absolutely love her! I've had the pleasure of seeing her perform live once before. They were the worst seats ever. I didn't care at the time because what mattered was that I was there. The concert was at Irvine Meadows (I forget what they call it now) and had what were suppose to be lawn seats. We didn't even get to sit on the lawn, we had to jump a fence and sit on some hill type area. Either way it was a nice experience and the crowd around us was great. Now 10 years later, it matters. When I heard she was coming to town, I knew then I had to get the best seats I could possibly get my hands on. Luckily, I succeeded. I know some people might think I'm crazy because of the price but, I don't care. It's Sade!! She comes around once every 10 years (given by her touring track record). Now, to make it an even more memorable experience (and TOTAL moneys worth) JOHN LEGEN...
