Sculluary

I like to think of February as my month. Since I was born in it I proclaim it! True, there are other fortunate folks who were lucky enough to be born in this glorious month, but still, it's my month. I love my birthday! I like to think that my birthday is from February 1st to February 28th or 29th depending if it's leap year. Silly I know but it's totally true. I just think that when it's your birthday you should enjoy it to the fullest. It's your day! I even get totally excited for my dude's birthday. He on the other hand is very meh about it. As soon as my birthday month is done I immediately start planning for his. He's a March baby.

This year I was a little worried I wasn't going to enjoy my day. Main reason being is that my dude is away. He's traveling the world. No, he's not in the service (although it feels that way at times) it's for work. His job gets projects going around the world and he gets to go build them. Pretty bad arse, I know.

My birthday celebration turned out to be better than I could have imagined. I celebrated with my family and close friends. My cousin Will and his wife Roxanne went out of their way to make me feel special. I must say they totally succeeded. We started our night with drinks at their place, dinner at Palermos and then drank the night away at Bigfoot Lodge. It was nice to see old friends show up. People who I hadn't seen in over ten years were there! All for me. I can't describe how amazing that felt. It totally blew me away and made my birthday that more extraordinary.

This year's birthday is definitely going in the books (and my heart) as one of my faves. Although I did miss my guy and I know he wished he was there, he was happy to hear how much fun I had the following day. He got a big kick out of seeing me hung over. I feel bad for my cousin's toilet. It got the wrath of my pukeness. Good times.
