THAT parent.

Sami being Sami
Before I was a parent and I went to the movies I use to hate to hear kids cry and whine. If it was a kid's movie it was totally understandable. I mean, it is a kid's movie. Anything other than that I found unacceptable and totally inconsiderate of the parents. I know it sounds harsh but I speak the truth.

When Sami was born my views had not changed. Being a parent did not stop me getting annoyed by screaming kid's. I might have been slightly more tolerant. Who am I kidding? My views were exactly the same. Which is why we never took Sami to the movie theater. We took her to the drive-in once. That was a close as it got. I refused to take her the movie theater because I refused to be THAT parent.

Last week I finally decided to give it a shot. I was a little skeptical and scared because I wasn't sure how she'd act. Would she be that annoying kid? Would she keep wanting to get in and out of her seat? Would she be a chatter box (truth be told she already is)? We would find out. I decided to bring my sister along. We had been planning on taking Sami to see Monsters University and the day had finally come.

Originally we were going to go to the Krikorian to watch the movie there. When we arrived and seen the line we instantly had a change of heart. I asked for a refund and suggested to my sister we go to the Arclight. They have reserved seating so there was no need to worry about a line. I bought the tickets on my app and off we went. We arrived a little early so we made a pit stop at Cold Stone. We figured it was Sami's day so why not. We had  our ice cream then went into the movie theater. We bought Sami a little kid's meal and off we went. I was still a little nervous. We found our seats and waited for the movie to start. Sami was chatting away as usual and then the movie started. My sister and I had to shush her a few times but all in all she behaved. None of my fears happened. Thank God. She watched the movie and laughed at all the little jokes. I was super excited! My sister and I were very proud. I'm glad I can finally take my kiddo to the movies without worrying about being THAT parent. Up next, Despicable Me Part 2!

Oh, by the way, Monsters University was great! It was very cute and funny. I totally recommend it even if you don't have kids. It has some interesting twists and they bring some of the characters from part 1 back. It is most definitely a must see!
