A few weeks ago Mr. Andrade and I decided to go on semi last minute trip to Vegas. He had been working a lot as of late and was in dire need of a mini get away. We had gotten an email from Mandalay Bay for two complimentary nights and figured what better time than now. I called to book and to our surprise were upgraded to a suite for free. Total score! We were also off to celebrate our new anniversary date (that's a different story) so were pretty stoked.
This was our first solo Vegas trip in awhile. We've slowly begun to get use to our Vegas trips. What I mean by that is that we have different interests when it comes to sin city. Luckily, clubbing isn't one of them for either of us (although we did hit up a club this trip). Mr. A likes to gamble and I like to drink. He'd rather spend his money at the tables and I'd rather spend my money at the bar. So when either one of us is doing what the other likes, we automatically assume we're bored. So it's taken awhile to get use to.
This trip turned out to be very relaxed. We arrived and were in total chill mode. The suite was amazing! It totally felt like a home away from home. It came pretty much equipped with everything except a stove. It had 2 restrooms, a bedroom and a living room. The master bathroom was huge! Total dream. It had 2 sinks, the bathtub and shower weren't connected and the restroom was on the other side of the room. It also had a TV. Mr. A was totally stoked about that.
We really didn't do much in Vegas other than well, drink and gamble. We had planned on going to a show but couldn't score to tickets to the one I had in mind. We usually love going to NY NY when we're in Vegas but this time around didn't really hang out there much. We actually only went one night and it was only for about half an hour. I wanted to go back to Mandalay Bay. It's a really nice hotel that has pretty much everything. I fell in love with their Mizuya Lounge Bar. It's kind of pricey but if you play by the bar then the drinks are on the house. That's pretty much what we did. They had live cover bands which were the best! I loved it. We did end up going to a club the last night. We were walking to our room and some guy approached us. He gave us some cards saying half off to get in, when we told him we were staying at Mandalay he said we'd be free. Mr. A and I looked at each other and said, "Why not?" We went up to our room, got dressed, then off we went to the club. It was called Mix and was on the top floor of Mandalay Bay. The view was spectacular! The music sucked balls but after a drink or 5 it wasn't too bad. Mr. A and I actually danced a bit and then snuck into the v.i.p section. We had a really good time. Looking forward to our next trip which I think shouldn't be too long. Mr. A just forwarded me another email from Mandalay Bay. I really need to learn how to say no.
i love the Mandalay Bay! such a treat! it looks like you two had a great getaway.
